Western Home: Western Decor: Navajo Inspired Rugs: Navajo Rug Recreations: Child Blanket Collection Child Blanket CollectionThis collection of hand-woven rugs, created from original Navajo Rug designs and Blankets, features classic blanket designs originally woven primarily for use by the Navajo women and children. Characterized by their bright colors and expressive designs, their special appeal made them prized trade goods frequently bartered or sold to other Indian nations as well as American and European traders. Many of the designs in this collection are taken from the originals collected by famed publisher and consummate collector, William Randolph Hearst. Hearst assembled a remarkably complete collection of all the major types of Navajo textiles woven between 1800 and 1920. His passion for collecting "the best of the genre" led to the preservation for posterity of more than two hundred blankets of rare quality. Call us for other designs in addition to those displayed here. | |||||||||
